What it is
Facial nerve palsy, also called facial paresis or Bell’s palsy when there is no clear cause, reduces or stops movement of the muscles on one side of the face. It makes everyday actions such as smiling, closing the eye or drinking difficult.
How we work
Rehabilitation uses the Kabat method, based on proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation: guided stimuli and exercises that help the facial muscles regain movement. Work at the practice goes alongside the advice of the doctor following the case.
Sessions are one-to-one and last about an hour. Their number and frequency depend on each case and are agreed together after the first assessment.
